The University of Surrey MBA is offered in collaboration with the International Business School – Lippstadt. The programme has run for a number of years and we are always impressed by the standard of our German students and the dedication and enthusiasm displayed in their studies.
Surrey is renowned in the UK as a high quality science and technological university - and our MBA reflects the institution’s high standards. Double accredited by AMBA and the AACSB, the programme aims to produce knowledgeable, competent and confident graduates that can make significant contribution in the business world.
The programme we offer in Lippstadt is for middle managers with ambition and drive who have at least 3 years post-graduate experience in a managerial role. Our students are selected carefully on the basis of academic merit, work experience, industry background and, crucially, what they can contribute to the class. Classes are generally relatively small (between 15 – 20 students). In combination, these elements ensure that the class dynamic provides good learning and networking experiences.
The programme takes 24 months to complete on a part-time basis. It comprises 6 core elements (5 academic modules plus the Action Case consultancy project) and 3 elective modules; in addition there is the final dissertation on a subject of your choice. Unlike some other UK distance learning MBAs, each module is supported by a face-to-face weekend workshop in Lippstadt run by a member of the Surrey faculty. All our faculty have come into academia from industry so have a good blend of practical and academic knowledge.
In addition to the programme in Lippstadt, all our MBA students, wherever they study, are invited to attend our annual Summer School (www.surrey.ac.uk/mba/summerschool). Held at the beginning of July each year, the Summer School provides an ideal opportunity to meet and mix with other Surrey MBA students and UK business managers. There is no enrolment fee for our students; you pay only for travel and accommodation.
